Hyper-inflated currencies: German Mark, Zimbabwe Dollar, Argentinian Peso, Venezula Bolivar, Lebanese Pound, melt onto the Bitcoin Iceberg. The Quartz Bitcoin ‘iceberg’ absorbs all of the melting ‘fiat’ value.
Oregon Fire Opal shows Inflation. Three Quartz sphere feet, are spaced in a ratio to produce a triangle with a 6.15 hypotenuse. The iceberg has 9 sides. The numbers 3,6,9 are a design basis for this piece. The iceberg is placed at 21 degrees to the vertical.
The matching necklace jewel also has a Fire Opal ‘inflation’ flame, and a Quartz melting ice cube, with a ‘$” symbol on Lapis Lazuli. The Gold disc with Bitcoin takes this value.
Turn over the jewel and you see a hand-engraved wormhole. The Bitcoin value creates a new planet with Bitcoin at its core. Made from Moss Agate backed with Gold foil. There is an Orange and White Diamond crystal necklace, with a Silver Infinity clasp.

My gemstone tribute to ‘Nostr’. I matched the purple color of the Nostr Ostrich with an Amethyst gem. I recut a faceted Oval to create two sides for engraving. The back of the gem is engraved with a “Fiat” Ostrich: Head buried in the sand, unhappy, watches Mainstream news and uses the US Dollar. A Bitcoin sun is in the sky if only he would look up at it!
When we turn the gem over we see a carving of a happy, confident, ‘Nostr’ Ostrich. He has embraced Bitcoin and the decentralized protocol that is ‘Nostr’. The Silver gem is engraved with: “Notes & Other Stuff, Transmitted by Relays”. There is a Brass “Zap” in the style of a lightning bolt on the clasp.
I made a shadow box that has a LED light panel, to illuminate the Amethyst gemstone. I display this via a Silver Infinity loop, that hangs on a Yellow Zircon gemstone. Placed to mark November 20th, 2019. I hand pierced a sheet of brass to make the Bitcoin chart to show price from 2009 to 2024, present day. I engraved the Title, block-height of #865,777 and my signature, on a Brass plate.

Fiat funded war is shown with the barbed wire ‘crown of thorns’. The wire was recovered from site of the ‘battle of the Somme’ from the first World war.
This cradles a “dinosaur egg” in Plicated White Agate that is millions of years old. I have placed a Nickel Iron Meteorite inside the egg. I carefully selected a shape that looks like a baby chick.
This artwork explores the idea that Bitcoin was a gift from an extra terrestrial alien. Nickel was also used to plate bullets and bombs to strengthen them. The destructive power of arms increased after this use. Nickel is mostly found as meteorites as it is so reactive on Earth.
My artwork sits on a Septarian nodule. Formed millions of years ago when Calcite and Quartz filled a clay nodule. This later turned to stone. I sliced this and polished to make the base.

A Citrine gem engraved with a Bitcoin symbol floats above the center to show when Bitcoin was created. The height shows the greater alpha return in the early years.
The silver price bar is angled to show 21 minutes past the hour and is shaped as an exponential log curve. Red Opal marks $1 million/Bitcoin.
‘Hodlonaut Spiral’ – Price of Gold in Bitcoin | 2022
Read More
My tribute to @hodlonaut. I have added a Silver Space-cat helmet to one of my Spiral Gem Artworks. This is set with a ‘Gold of the Incas’ crystal. Found in South America, this is a quartz crystal that is naturally coated with pure 24k Gold.
The brass spiral spirals shows the price of Gold in Sats over time. The line chart starts at the outside and grows in a circle towards the center over time. The price of Gold in Sats decreases each year as Bitcoin gains in value. The Gold/Sats scale is hand engraved onto the Silver price bar.
The center of the sculpture has a Red Pyrope Garnet. This is Bitcoin’s birthstone, as it represents January 2009 when the first Bitcoin was mined.
The fossilized wood is from Wyoming, USA, and is 5” tall by 4” wide. Eden Valley Petrified Wood was formed from palm trees living about 50 million years ago. The fossil wood found in this area is known for the light blue agate surrounding many of the pieces. This feature is not found in fossil wood anywhere else in the world.
The gemstone artwork will be presented in a luxury wooden box. All proceeds from this auction will go to the legal fight for @hodlonaut.

My Gemstone Art sculpture to show Bitcoins issuance over time. There will be 33 Epochs, 4 years in length, from 2009 to 2140 ,when the last Bitcoin will be mined. Four Silver squares, linked together, float above a beautiful petrified wood that is millions of years old. The squares get smaller by half their area, in size to illustrate the halving of Bitcoin rewards every 4 years.
There is an Octahedral, or double pyramid, shaped crystal of Flourite to mark the target of the last Bitcoin, number 21 million in 2140. The Silver pattern is angled at 21 degrees to the vertical.
A brass spiral shows the graph of Bitcoins price over time. Three natural Diamond cubes, secured on 14kt White Gold pins, mark the halving dates of 2013, 2017 and 2021. The centre of the spiral starts in 2009, and grows out towards the outer edge. This gemstone art sculpture was inspired by a tweet called the Digital Rai by Wicked Smart Bitcoin @w_s-bitcoin.
The petrified wood is an African, Woodworthia tree. This is 250 million years old, from the Triassic period when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The back of the fossilized wood has a Silver plate with my signature and the block time on completion – 734,000.
Presented in a handmade Black Walnut wooden Box with an engraved brass plate that details the artwork.
Materials, 14kt White Gold, Sterling Silver, Diamond Crystals, Brass, Flourite, Fossilized Wood.

‘V for Vendetta’ – Quartz Portrait with Citrine Gem and Lapis Lazuli | 2024
Read More
Inspired by the movie “V for Vendetta”. The Guy Fawkes mask was worn by our hero, who wanted to blow up the Houses of Parliament as the UK was under a totalitarian regime. I carved the mask on an Hexagonal Rock Crystal.
The technique is a ‘Reverse Intaglio’. I carve on the back of the gemstone, but you look at the portrait from the front. This gives some great optical illusions as you look at the Quartz.
A Brass V for Victory stand holds the gem carving. Hand engraved with lines from the movie: “Would you dance…with me?”, “ Now, On the eve of Your revolution?”.
An Octagonal Citrine Gem sits within the arms of the “V” and is engraved with the Bitcoin symbol as a tribute to Satoshi Nakamoto.
Lapis Lazuli represented eternity in Ancient Egypt. I engraved with the V for Vendetta Logo, filled with Gold leaf. I use it as a platform and Altar. A black Petrified Silica Wood base, echoes the dark symbolism of the movie. This artwork is best displayed on a turntable, as the play of light, across the carved gemstones, creates a special kind of magic.

A gem sculpture inspired by the “Wall Street Bull Sculpture”. Ancient Life and Outer Space!
I carved my Bitcoin Bull from the oldest life form on earth, approx 2 Billion years old! Fossilized Stromatolites preserved as Jasper stone from the Mary Ellen mine in Minnesota, USA.
The ‘horns’ and the ‘Bitcoin symbol’ are carved from a Nickel-Iron Meteorite that may be 4.5 billion years old! This fell from Outer space in Muonionalasta, Sweden, 1 million years ago. I acid-etched this with ferric-chloride, to reveal the “Widmanstatten pattern.” This forms by slow cooling in the cores of planets and asteroids.
I made a miniature Silver ingot, Gold coin and Dollar symbol and placed them under the hoof. This tells the story of Bitcoin crushing that market cap of these other assets. I made this in reverse, so their true nature is revealed with a mirror or in a Wax Sealing stamp.
‘Bitcoin Spiral Clock’ – Price over Time | 2025
Read More
I combined the idea of the Rai stones of Yap, the first decentralized currency. A 30cm disc of Black Marble is the base for the Bitcoin price spiral. This shows the price action over time. Placed on top of Brass rods that show clock time. One 4 year cycle = 60 mins. The horizontal axis show price increasing by 10X from $1-$10-$100-$1k-$10k, $100k, $1 million.
A Star Rutile Quartz sits at the center to show the energy of Bitcoin. Emerald Triangles depict highs of each cycle. Ruby Gems show each low. CZ’s show mid-cycle highs. All stones are lab-grown.
Lab grown Orange Sapphires on the 12pm axis show the block rewards. Each Octagon is half the area of the previous gem. A round Moonstone gem sits at the apex and represents value until 2140. “To the Moon baby!”
Behind the Moonstone I have engraved 28 blocks, to show the other block halvings from 2025 to 2140. I added Lapis Lazuli to the back of the Quartz. This gem was sacred in Ancient Egypt. I pierced the Bitcoin symbol out of solid brass, and placed it at the center. I hand engraved my signature, the artwork name and the block-height.

Influences
Gareth is Inspired by Jewels of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco, Salvador Dali, Kadinsky and Ancient Egypt. He often looks to the world of Nature, for ideas.
Design Elements
Art that tells a story, using precious materials, with layers of meaning. Gareth uses the Golden Ratio, Sacred Geometry, and the power of Nikola Tesla’s Laws of 3, 6 and 9 to scaffold his Bitcoin Gem Artwork. Gemstones are ancient, a perfect way to show the eternal nature of Bitcoin.
1. The first impact is the beauty of the gem sculpture or Jewel.
2. Each piece tells a dynamic story that is revealed on close examination.
3. Precious Materials from the nature, are selected to embody aspects of Bitcoins design, structure, or effect on the world.
My life’s work has been to create precious gemstone art that generations will cherish.
I love the treasures of the earth and ancient history. Gem carving has been a lifelong passion.
I use my skills and experience, to reveal the true elegance of Bitcoin. This is how I can help to grow our network.
History
A lifetime devoted to carving gems and creating unique Designer Jewelry. For most of that time, Gareth worked with families to make a remembrance Jewel. A gemstone was carved with a portrait of their ‘loved one’. An engraved message and a personal ‘touch of whimsy’ would tell their story.
